The Doctors

Dr. Kevin L. Terry

Dr. Kevin Terry

At age 14, I went with my grandmother for her first chiropractic visit. I had no idea what a chiropractor was so I went out of pure curiosity. A few years previous, she had a fall where she landed hard and had low back pain ever since. At this point nothing she had done was helping the situation so she decided to try chiropractic for the first time in her life.

After the consultation and examination they invited me into the treatment room where he had her X-rays on display. After reviewing his findings and explaining how he planned to correct her problem, he laid her on her side and gave her an adjustment which made a “crack” noise. I looked at my grandmother who appeared to have experienced some immediate relief. I was a little intrigued yet confused at what just happened. I looked at the doctor and asked:

“You get paid to crack bones”? To which he replied, “No son, I get sued if I crack bones” “But you just cracked her bones” “No, that noise you heard was nitrogen gas shifting into her joint…... ( the rest went right over my head)” When I walked out of the chiropractor's office, although confused at the intellectual level, I absolutely knew that I was going to be a chiropractor.

Just over 10 years later I was in Iowa, attending chiropractic college and loving school for the first time in my life. Fast forward 30 more years of being in practice helping people with their health in ways that I would have never imagined possible. This profession has truly been a blessing to thousands of my patients as they have seen improvements in their aches and pains, allergies and many other health conditions.
